Creature skin mod for Hogwarts Legacy

DragonOgryff is a free game utility for PC from an indie developer named Zurrye. It's a mod that lets users add a skin to one of the creatures in the open-world title, Hogwarts Legacy. With it, they can turn the rare and mythical Hypogriff into various species of Hebidrean dragons.

Compared to other mods like BLK Dash Broom or Shorter Uniform which focus on characters and items, DragonOgryff is meant for the creatures that inhabit the world in the game. There are multiple dragon types to choose from and each one has its own unique animation.

Scottish dragons

The Hypogriff is one of the rarest creatures in the Harry Potter universe and is distinguished by its half-eagle half-horse appearance. You'll be attaining this magnificent beast in the latter part of your playthrough, and will serve as an alternative to flying by brooms. Here then comes DragonGryff, a mod that will turn it into a Hebridean Dragon, another mythical creature from the same world.

DragonGryff draws from Scottish folklore about Beithir, a sea serpent akin to dragons. The mod offers three variants to choose from, namely Ethreal, Green Welsh, and Hungarian Horntail, each one boasting unique physical characteristics and design. They also have reworked animations and mounting positions for better integration. Regardless of which one you choose, it will all look natural and seamless with the rest of the gameplay.

As an added bonus, this mod will also work with Thestral, one of the other 13 beasts available in the game, this time, a combination of bat and horse. Before diving in, just be aware that it will have some conflicts with other mods for the game that results in crashes. It would be best to test it out individually first to avoid such instances.

Majestic flight

To sum up, DragonGryff is arguably one of the best mods available for Hogwarts Legacy right now. It takes the already impressive Hypogriff and Thestral, and turns them into equally mythical dragons to soar the skies with. There are three variants to choose from and they are great in their own right. This mod is highly recommended and definitely a must-try.

PROS

  • Three variants available
